ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Engineer with over 10 years of experience as an Oracle Senior DBA. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating large Oracle BI, DWH, and Analytics databases on Oracle Exadata Cloud Services (ExaCS) in the OCI environment. You will play a key role in troubleshooting, performance optimization, and ensuring the security and availability of our database systems. Fluency in German is essential, as you will collaborate with German customers to address requirements and resolve incidents.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set up and operate large Oracle BI/DWH/Analytics databases on ExaCS, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Manage Oracle RAC, ASM, and Data Guard configurations.
  • Monitor Oracle Exadata Cloud Services using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) in the OCI environment.
  • Maintain and optimize the OEM monitoring system, including patch testing, implementation, and documentation.
  • Design and implement high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions, including testing and documentation.
  • Automate platform tasks such as database creation and user management using Terraform and Ansible.
  • Support migration efforts from on-premises to OCI, ensuring a smooth transition.
  • Design, implement, and test internal and customer reports in the Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) environment.
  • Set up and operate APEX instances, developing applications to support database operations.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot Qlik Replicate tasks for replicating Oracle database transactions to other systems.
  • Upgrade Grafana and enhance dashboards to identify performance bottlenecks effectively.


  • REQUIREMENTS

    • 10+ years of experience as an Oracle Senior DBA, with deep knowledge of Oracle database management.
    • Strong familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and ExaCS.
    • Proficient in Linux, with the ability to troubleshoot network issues, including routing and firewalls.
    • Fluency in German, with the ability to communicate effectively with German-speaking customers.
    • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for monitoring and managing databases.
    • Strong understanding of RAC, ASM, and Data Guard configurations.
    • Knowledge of automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
    • Experience with APEX application development and implementation.
    • Familiarity with Qlik Replicate for database transaction replication.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
