ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to support the operation and ongoing evolution of our client’s enterprise services. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring stability, scalability, and performance of traditional operations as well as modern cloud-based initiatives within a complex Java EE-based environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate and maintain traditional application components with a focus on stability and performance (no further development required).

  • Support the AMS team in both traditional operations and continuous development cycles.

  • Maintain and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Leroy, GitLab, and related tools.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage deployment processes across private and public cloud infrastructures.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot system performance using tools like Elastic and Kibana.

  • Manage source code and version control using GitHub, GitLab, and Subversion.

  • Support deployments using SCM Harvest and ensure consistency across environments.

  • Manage and configure application servers such as WildFly (versions 24, 27, 33) or equivalent.

  • Ensure documentation is maintained and up-to-date using Confluence.

  • Contribute to evolving the infrastructure toward Azure public cloud adoption.

  • Participate in planning and execution of future-oriented DevOps strategies within the cloud and hybrid environments.

REQUIREMENTS

Mandatory Technical Skills:

  • Java JEE Environment: Strong experience (3+ years) with Java OpenJDK 11, 17, and 21.

  • Development Tools:

    • IntelliJ IDEA (minimum 1 year experience).

    • JFrog Artifactory.

    • Version control systems: Subversion, GitHub, GitLab (minimum 1 year experience).

  • CI/CD Pipelines: Jenkins, Leroy, GitLab CI/CD (minimum 1 year experience).

  • Application Servers: WildFly 24, 27, or 33 (minimum 1 year experience or comparable).

  • Monitoring/Logging: Basic experience with Elastic Stack (ElasticSearch and Kibana).

  • Documentation: Proficient in using Confluence.

  • Deployment Tools: Experience with SCM Harvest.

  • Cloud Experience:

    • Client’s Private Cloud, Spinnaker, Rancher.

    • Familiarity with Azure Public Cloud (preferred for future transitions).

  • Business Trips: Willingness and readiness to travel as required by project or client needs is expected. This may include occasional domestic or international travel, sometimes on short notice.

Additional/Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with Softproject X4 BPMS is highly desirable.

  • Familiarity with Jakarta EE 10.

  • Basic experience or exposure to C#.

  • Experience with IBM MQ is a plus.

  • Strong understanding of enterprise-grade development and deployment workflows.

Soft Skills:

  • Proven ability to work autonomously and in team settings.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

  • Clear and structured communication, especially in documenting and transferring knowledge.
