ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly skilled Tech Lead with strong development experience to guide our data engineering initiatives and lead complex technical projects. In this role, you will not only contribute hands-on but also provide architectural direction, mentor engineers, and ensure the robustness, scalability, and security of our data solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize cloud-native data platforms that drive business value.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of data pipelines and services using AWS technologies.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to developers and data engineers.

• Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to define data solutions aligned with organizational goals.

• Ensure best practices in coding standards, CI/CD, version control, and system architecture.

• Manage infrastructure-as-code deployments and enforce cloud security standards.

• Troubleshoot complex system issues and optimize performance across databases, data lakes, and streaming platforms.

• Drive innovation by evaluating new technologies, frameworks, and tools to enhance efficiency and scalability.

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience as a Tech Lead or senior developer in data engineering projects.

• Strong programming background with Python and proficiency in SQL.

• Hands-on expertise with AWS services including:

  • Data & Processing: Lambda, Glue, Glue Data Catalog, Lake Formation, Athena

  • Messaging & Streaming: SQS/SNS, MSK/Kafka

  • Storage & Databases: S3, Aurora, RDS, Redshift, DynamoDB

  • Integration & Security: API Gateway, IAM, WAF

• Experience with web development tools and modern CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab).

• Strong understanding of data architecture, cloud-native design, and distributed systems.

• Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.

• Ability to balance hands-on coding with high-level architectural decision-making.

• Willingness and readiness to travel as required by project or client needs is expected. This may include occasional domestic or international travel, sometimes on short notice.
